I'm telling you there are no use cases of BTC it's only practical use is as a speculative asset

Sure the technology is neat but no one cares about that Cryptobros only bring it up to make it seem like its not just about making money

I dont even know where to start with this comment, but agree to disagree. I dont think you understand bitcoin as much as you think you do, i'll leave it at that

Setting black ppl up to be reliant on cryptocurrency where most won’t even see their returns vs tangible resources and educational tools so they can better prepare for their own future.

This is okay ig but there is much better ways to impact the community imo. You can’t just be in poverty and start getting into cryptocurrency without any sort of foundation on… anything.

I mean we don’t know what exactly will be taught but it’s not like they are asking kids to or forcing them to invest. I’m sure it’ll just be about introducing them to something they might not have knowledge about. Whether you think that knowledge is important is on you.

There are other actual schools with “financial literacry” and “investment” courses, courses about crypto around the country. It’s no different really. I feel like people are letting your own biases towards crypto get in the way.

the primary function when it comes to understanding bitcoin is understanding fiat. That alone is valuable.

That’s fine. School/university offerings these courses is slightly different from offering these courses to children in the projects. I think they’d benefit from more tanagible services than learning about cryptocurrency. Which in itself is a niche for people already having some sort of wealth.

You cant treat these situations the same because the factors are a lot different

But they are the same at the core, but implementing it in two different cultural bubbles is not the same. And you can’t treat them the same. People need different tools to succeed

I agree with you there I don’t think this will lead these kids to prosperity necessarily but again this isn’t a situation like Ye’s school or LeBron’s this is a summer course. Kids take summer classes on plenty of different things. It’s not like she these kids don't go to actual school.

My high school alma mater just started a similar course in mind right in the middle of the hood. If this is something these kids are interested in then I don’t see an issue. It’s plenty of worse things available to these kids growing up in Marcy then learning about Crypto

Yall always do this lol. You can never explain and just say “there’s a lot you don’t understand, do some research” without offering anything in terms of resources or so much as an inkling of what you’re talking about

You started the comment off with bitcoin has no use cases as if the network and blockchain arent revolutionary technologies. I literally dont know where to start. I cant give you an essay, I linked an easy to digest video.

Especially bitcoin which is the most out of reach cyrpto for most people.

There are other coins better doing that are also having real world. Even ETH would have been better.

But yeah crypto in general is not practical for a good amount of people. How are niggas in the project suppose to keep track of their wallets & buy in n out if theyre access to internet n electricity is limited n faulty?

Idk. I think a general crypto class is better or one of the more realistic coins, or how bout something besides crypto thay is practical altogether.

Im not even invested in bitcoin

I think what Jay-Z is doing is great, teaching kids about bitcoin directly correlates with teaching them how FIAT works as well. That is invaluable

Decentralized/immutable money on a network that cannot be interrupted or controlled, ever? Smart contracts are something you can directly point to that was created using blockchain technology. I can see how something like this could affect something like our voting systems by holding governments and policy makers accountable

Crypto like art isnt for the poor.

Its a type of investment you do after you made money off of other investments.

The knowledge on how to do so can be valuable, eventually, but its not gonna help right away.

I don’t think anyone is denying the utility of blockchain utility in general. It’s Bitcoin specifically that has yet to demonstrate any real value beyond buying d**** on the internet (which I do myself)
