Obviously they can give people opportunities but as Marxists we need to be critical of all that exists. It’s ultimately a form of exploitation like any other business deal
obviously as a record exec jay is gonna make more money than his artists but making it as an independent isnt something that was feasible until recently
when cole, ye, etc were coming up signing a deal was the best thing that could happen to a young artist and jay has done a decent job for his artists (you can argue beans, etc but for the most part hes done good)
