Jay Versace talented but he a weirdo. Dude tried to get at me in the inbox and invited me to his house. I am not gay by any measure and he was insisting i come thru. weird s*** and yes it was sexually charged
Honestly true theres a certain freedom in not knowing what you're doing when you start out where your creativity will express itself in wilder ways , once you get used to making music some parts of the process start becoming more automatic and you may lose some of that energy from the beginning

What. lmfao.
This is so true. I overthink every single tweak I make when making a beat now and I can remember how carefree I used to be. And how ideas used to flow effortlessly to me, regardless if they turned out to be trash back then.
Trying to recapture that childlike creativity again, but it’s hard

Just switch up your routines, & don’t place importance on the result. enjoy the creative aspect itself

back when I started making music I had no idea wtf I was doing I didn't even have my own pc
but I would just crank out beats
these days I have the knowledge and resources but can't finish anything

Shoulda let him crack
This is basically the Dunning Kruger effect aka the "valley of despair" and can be applied to any pretty much any creative field. I feel him tho that producer elitism is annoying af. Niggas be thinking s*** is trash and "not creative" if u ain't chopping something up into 8th or 16th notes meanwhile none of the listeners give a flying f*** about that s*** lmaoooo
Shoulda let him crack
Yep

That's true too
Boldy Versace tape was gold and I can confirm ppl underrated it like crazy
not a producer but I can relate to what he says tbh I listen back to my early DJ mixes thinking damn this s*** was nuts I rly had no idea what I was doing but it came out pretty unique, now that I know a lot more I feel a lot more blocked in trying to get that same idgaf energy, you have your familiar patterns and also notice "mistakes" much more
I hated not knowing what I'm doing back then but now I wish I could be a bit more ignorant again lol
This is true. Having no knowledge leads to a lot more creative outcomes before you get stuck in your ways or start to overthink it, or try to make what people like at the present time
We needed the Freddie Versace tape man
Wish he got more placements but maybe his f’otry really f***ing him and maybe rightfully so
