you don't see any correlation between the rise of social media and this, obviously gender is a spectrum but never did people focus on it this much
Most people didn't focus on being gay vs straight much either until people that were tired of feeling like outcasts or having to hide their desires found a way to band together and inspire enough confidence in other to tell the world who they were and how they weren't going to stand by and be mistreated anymore
