Tbf jane remover was a pioneer of the digicore sound and it was always a sound they pushed forward. This album just had them return to that sound.

Now if you listen to frailty, you’ll understand they are much more than this kind of sound. Well, she pretty much makes n blends every genre, beyond distorted 808s.

i dont think revengeseekerz or indie rock is crazy different from "rage rap" or "zesty distorted 808 music" as you put it and i don't think they're supposed to be. revengeseekerz does dip more into other genres like dance or rock than a ken carson or osamason though imo. indie rock is more just a standard collection of songs/mixtape and it's not nearly as good for it.

the biggest thing is that i think she's a better songwriter than most of those guys and produces it herself too. listening as a whole album back to front is miles away from the majority of projects in this lane, and she's not on a major label so she's not gonna be forced to put 40 songs out to run her numbers up. even carti with i am music, which at its peak has some of his best songs, is way overly long and has clear filler like "we need all da vibez" and the ai songs.

the jane remover fanbase however is largely dogshit and parasocial. i think cuz a lot of it is built off her past albums which were indietronica and shoegaze, or her jersey club/mashup stuff, there's a large portion who think she is like the only one doing stuff like this and don't care for rap music like that. even she calls them out in interviews for being stupid but i don't really know how you can stop them.

i do also think there's a level of moving more like an indie artist than a rap artist behind the scenes. cuz if you compare jane to 2hollis who's signed to a label, working with opium, etc, hollis seems to have a different kind of fanbase that doesnt attract the pitchfork sort of crowd.

Its jus a more mainstream version of the music guys like osamason or bleood or che was alrdy making. It wasnt originally a white sound

on that note, I've seen both of them live this year and the Jane Remover crowd was 1000x better, the median age at 2hollis couldn't have been higher than 16. rambunctious ass teenagers in shiestys were "opening the pit" on the very first song from Nate Sib theres some insane stories of women being assaulted at his concerts too

just a terrible vibe from sexist teenagers who think the goal of a concert is to inflict as much damage as possible and wild out. JR fans are annoying online for sure but irl her fanbase seems much less ridiculous
