Donda LP1 was virtually unlistenable and then we saw how so many songs from that first iteration went from dogshit to incredible in the 2nd LP
Just saying, it’s pretty clear Kanye wasn’t locking in for the collab and his ideas are barely even present in it. It probably sounds completely different if he seriously explored it
Like Bully sounds very promising right now but that also isnt a guarantee it’s going to end up being very good

i don't think ye has it in him anymore to even finish something the way he did donda lp1->lp2 so honestly the half finished demos are the same as the releases atp. donda 2 and vultures 2 releases were in a really bad half assed state and bully released songs are a mess. i mean like we're arguing over the idea of the potential of the songs being good hypothetically rn when james will deliver all on his own no kanye involved.

idk man. I didn’t think Ye had it in him for Donda either. The 2018 albums weren’t all bad obviously but I was severely disappointed regardless when comparing it to his past work. Then he levels up extremely hard with Donda.
The situations regarding Donda 2 and Vultures 2 are obviously even worse now than in 2018 but end of the day we all know what Ye is capable of when he goes quiet and locks in.

I actually think like 3-4 songs on there are pretty releasable, and that’s without any of the feature vocals that were recorded for those songs
I do think that the rest of the songs are genuinely awful though
