well there's a long list of things we could do to help them but in general theyd simply be released.

I agree with this on principle, as most people don't just do evil things for no reason, there's a backstory that lead them to where they ended up

But the amount of resources to rehabilitate all of these people, to dig through all the trauma and reteach them bad habits that were engrained into them, all in a stable environment

It's a big ask.

I hear Europe has much more rehabilitation focused prisons though, especially compared to the meat factories private corporations have made our prisons.
