Yeah sort of. if the motive is rehabilitation instead of just incarceration then it makes no sense to have those two types of offenders in the same proximity.

I feel like certain obvious crimes deserve a swift death sentence, provided all the facts are there.

Non violent offenses should be taken case by case.

No one should be in jail for years if they didn't or couldn't hurt anyone.

There definitely needs to be some rehab though.

I think people are against it because they know someone in jail would probably have a better chance of mastering a skill since they literally have nothing better to do in there as opposed to someone free who could theoretically master it, but won't because they have the free will to do whatever they want and have other priorities.

But that's why learning skills should be free anyway
