yes unlike some people im more than willing to admit when i dont know something.

It’s the basis of your ideal

You have to see how that’s somewhat problematic

You’re advocating for a chance at reform and release for essentially every criminal and have no idea how to gauge whether someone is reformed

yeah its totally prison we're just changing the entire infrastructure, function, layout etc.,

if calling it prison makes you feel better i guess we can do that.

uh yeah, if the experts determine none of them can be reformed, well, they get to stay in the social housing units.

Who are these experts that you trust so much? And think they won’t be corrupt as well?

I have a degree of sympathy for the view that everyone deserves a second chance, and a transition towards restorative justice. It’s worth discussing if it could ever be efficient or implemented properly. But there’s just some despicable people out there who don’t deserve a second chance. For example, I don’t think cartel hit men that behead, flay, mutilate, dismember and kill families with any sort impunity should be allowed that second chance. Individuals who kill without remorse, and continue to harbor satisfaction they get from torturing other people should be sentenced to death.

There is no where near enough staff to help people with normal d*** addictions and they are on wait lists for months til they get help. So how are they going to treat all these criminals for a longer list of reasons.. jails should be more rehabilitate focused but what comes first..

    This is referencing Australia anyway

the way you're describing it pretty much sounds like a prison

not all criminals can be rehabilitated

theres a reason that "rehab" usually refers to substance rehabilitation like d**** or alcohol

no one is born a d*** addict or alcoholic

however people are born psychopaths which can make them rapists or murderers

right and we should be investigating if they can be reformed even if theyve committed horrible crimes.

i also havent gone into detail on what goes on in these facilities but no its not like prison.

If there was no real consequences for ones actions, society would fall apart on the low. I dont think the concept of prisons is wrong moreso all the inner workings on the prision system that is severely flawed. Putting criminals in rehab is not really a better alternative, u pretty much just putting them in a prison in disguise. What needs to be done is updating of the prison system, things like private prison, people serving mad years for petty crimes, etc needs to be fixed

Idk about that. Pretty much all serial killers had horrible childhoods. In your argument you are saying that God creates bad apples which I doubt. It’s mainly environment imo
