    Do you think he’s insecure about releasing music officially? Why did he release BTSU / Jasmine originally and then rerelease it on vinyl recently? Or do you think his fear was living up to the extreme hype and standard we set for him?

    I think he knows his music isn’t that great and that a machine and a series of very fortunate events lead to his breakthrough but he knows all it takes is one album to ruin all of that hype look at Chance the Rapper so he keeps writing all of these excuses

    Same with them too I just don’t like their style or music it isn’t futuristic or innovative contrary popular to belief but Hira has the most potential out of PI

    I don’t think it’s futuristic or innovative - I don’t think that’s their intent - I think it’s good music

    I fear this is a personal expectation thing: you’re critiquing their popularity and praise over what you’re hearing - in my opinion

    Outside of ANY context, Reinen makes good music, so does Jai. I’m not saying it’s the best to ever exist, but it’s good

    Very similar to PND. Outside of everything, he makes good music

    Yeah if they were complete unknowns of course their music is good but I think based on the standards I rate music it isn’t great but I only listen to very great music from a wide range of periods but compared to today’s s*** their music is great

    Yeah that’s a fair conclusion

    I will say: I don’t keep up with Jai or PI - outside of Safe’s thread here - but I’m confident when they release music, I will listen, I won’t think too much about it, but I’m confident I’ll enjoy it. To me that’s enough

    His popularity came from his writing and Drake affiliation post-PND1

    You’re admitting he’s declined in quality over the years. No one is saying 1 & 2 aren’t classics. No one is saying he isn’t influential. The question is who makes better music? Not made

    If he never released after 1, we’d talk about him every other Month and repeatedly say “Yo remember this guy?” “So much potential” and that’s it...

    So even if I agree, what’s your point?
