Thread shouldn’t be dead

when I see the Paul Institute threads I feel like Insertcoolnamehere in the jayelectronica thread (hell even Jay E has two albums, like 40 loosies, a bunch of EPs, a pre Jay E album)

It's hard to get motivated or hyped about extremely sporadic Jai or AK releases, I'd say that given we are so far removed from the earlier era, the now young demo of posters on here aren't really gonna be as hyped for a Paul Institute release either

Jai & AK fans get less of a drip feed of news and music than Frank fans, at least Frank has 4 projects, features everywhere, a loosies compilation and a bunch of actual loosies + the (albeit very underwhelming) pre Frank Ocean compilation (Lonny Breaux collection)

Imagine being a Paul fan & trying to maintain the enthusiasm and excitement for new releases when there's been less than 25 songs between the two of them & then just their executive production/vision shaping some other musicians who just aren't anywhere near as exciting as them

I feel this for sure. but fabiana atleast is worthy of the attention & love separate from them. jai helped produce like most of her album last year and it was excellent

I was going to change the last sentence 'shaping some other musicians who just aren't anywhere near as exciting as them' to something else due to her releasee but I had to make a few urgent phone calls so I just posted what I had written

(good thing I made those calls though, i got the right customer service agent who sent me a free replacement for something I needed )

damn the paul's played the mysterious game to the point of irrelevancy, 2.6k views in a week? i know local rappers who get more exposure. just drop your music and carry on man no one cares about these guys besides us 60 nerds on niche internet forums.

and you think jai being compared to them is unrealistic? the consensus here seems to be that the internet would crash over an album release, im saying it'd make waves for a week before its just another album

Idk if it's unrealistic at this stage. I just think saying he "wouldn't even do" Mk.gee numbers is nothing to scoff at. He's been away, but people/the industry/the internet, at large, will care. It's not the same and never really has been for A. K. is all.

Anyway, aren't most albums are just another album after a week, these days?
