Man i love Jai but ive never bothered to check out songs from PI aside of a couple tracks.
This one is nuts
Love to see it lowkey wish he dropped this in the summer tho this would’ve been a fire beach song
still one of my favorite songs ever
need her to drop an album already
she need to drop this already
Dig the new song a lot, Hypothalamustho is still my fav PI single not by Jai lowkey hope we get an album eventually
this John Davis guy also masters vinyl so it's possible. also the fact that that there's an A side. The past drop in 2020, the singles didn't have that like previous releases. plus this artwork goes back to the vinyl centre-label format. the PI summer artworks looked more like CD label art
also just realized this release doesn't have a catalog number
No sign of merch but stream is now available

This is the single he dropped in 2020 I’m confused
definitely the coolest looking artwork from PI, everything else been looking mad amateur and windows paint esque

London singer/producer/songwriter Jai Paul grew into a highly influential artist on the strength of only a few properly released singles and some pirated demos that were widely distributed amongst ravenous fans. Coming out of the Myspace era with a sound that incorporated both smooth R&B falsetto vocals and scattered, beat-forward production, an early demo led to a contract with XL Recordings. After his songs made the rounds in an unofficial capacity in 2013, Paul largely disappeared from public view until 2019, when he returned with new music and commercially released his stolen demos as Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones).
Jai Paul grew up in northwest London and was making music regularly by the time he was a teenager. Drawing from both J Dilla's collage esthetic and a long line of bedroom producers, the young artist developed a futuristic take on pop music all his own. A demo for his song "BTSTU" slowly caught on through BBC airplay and critical coverage online in the start of the 2010s. He signed a deal with XL Recordings in 2010, already at the vanguard of a new era of pop production. Tracks by superstar artists like Drake and Beyoncé soon showed up with samples of Jai Paul's sole track, furthering his notoriety. In 2012, he released a new song, "Jasmine (Demo)," online. In 2013, 16 tracks of unreleased Jai Paul music appeared online out of nowhere, mysteriously uploaded as untitled files by an unknown source. These unfinished tracks, touted as a leak of his debut album, were unauthorized and possibly even the product of a laptop stolen from Paul himself. He issued a statement urging fans to not download or purchase the songs, but the damage was already done. The partially cooked tracks took on a life of their own for listeners, and Paul, who had always been slow-working and private, all but disappeared from the public eye for the next six years.
In 2019, he returned, officially issuing the pirated tracks from 2013 as Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones) along with the release of two brand-new tracks, "He" and "Do You Love Her Now."

Back in 2016, the elusive Jai Paul was thrust into the limelight when he revealed a new venture, formed with his brother A.K. Paul and Muz Azar, called the Paul Institute. Considering how rarely the Pauls release music, this news was incredibly exciting; what was less clear, however, was what the Institute actually was. All it really had was a website instructing fans to sign up with a phone number, and a ‘work with us’ section at the bottom that provided an email address.
As it turned out, the brothers were looking for artists and creative people who might want to work with them on the venture. Later in 2016, the Paul Institute launched itself as a record label and music platform with a debut release from A.K. Paul himself, “Landcruisin”. Then, in 2017, it introduced the world to two new artists, Fabiana Palladino and Ruthven. Over the past week, the label has released two new singles from those artists, and brought two newcomers on-board: HIRA and REINEN, who also released a new track each.
Taken together, these tracks show that the Paul Institute is putting out some seriously advanced the pop music, with major songwriting chops and a sharp, hypermodern production sheen. While the Paul brothers have a hand in the music that goes out, each artist has a unique sound and individual perspective that they bring to their work.

im expecting a video from ruthven tbh
interesting to see that XL has taken more of a front seat in this single release - and nothing up on Paul Institute site. I do reckon there would be a vinyl eventually since Ruthven's track art is clearly meant for physical edition

I can def see why they would have their eye on Ruthven.
Honestly Ruthven is PI's most marketable act, The most realized version of the PI sound, and just has a great voice. Ruthven is a star.
she need to drop this already
bruh i remember when this s*** premiered on the radio show and the thread went nuts
