    hey man relax

im not being disingenuous, i just clearly gave the music more of a chance than you did

in fact it is quite disingenuous imo to chalk songs like Shadow Knight, Have You Decided, and Waiting up to just sounding like jai records

to be fair the two you mentioned are probably the ones that fall into that category the least.

i really dont see how the first two tracks dont sound like Jai Paul. given the two new songs he dropped last year that sounded cleaner and leaned heavily into the more vintage stylings in a similar way.

they’re still great songs though, dont get me wrong. i dont see how acknowledging how his fingerprints is all over the project is ‘not giving it a chance’.

Be Honest is way way too stripped back to be a Jai song and its his brother anyway so obviously theres gonna be vocal similarity

    Unreal is similar yea 100%

but regardless those songs last year aren't Jai's signature sound
his sound is unstable, synth heavy, glitchy, massive side chaining, and sharp like blurred vocals

which I dont really hear here at all

AK and Jai have similar styles to each other because, well, you know. Jai was just the first you heard music from between the two. Even then, someone who has listened to both of them for a minute can see that while they do share the similar sound, they both add their own unique twists to it

The label is clearly going for a very distinct aesthetic and sound as a whole which might not be your thing. And yes of course they are all clearly influenced by the paul brothers, that’s partly why they’ve taken these artists under their wing, but what you’re really seeing here is a modern revival of Prince Peter and Phil influence more than that

    100%
theres clearly a common sound between them and that sound is clearly influenced significantly by Jai and AK

but id say its more cohesion than copycat by far. all of them sound distinct from each other both production wise and vocally

really a project like this is intended to show off its array of talent. so im listening to try hear what they all offer. i can see the label is definitely clearly going for the very distinct style you mentioned. on a project like this it works well because it sounds cohesive.

in fact the instrumentals to me sound so similar that i think they could all fit together on a solo album for any one of the artists featured here. that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you want to look at it.

in the future when a solo album does drop, no matter who it is ill be expecting a similar sort of sound, which may hurt the ability to differentiate between them and them standing on their own as individuals. but i guess i wont know for sure until that actually does happen.

aswell as what others have said, dont forget that a.k played a massive role in defining jai paul's sound

alot of people forget his credits in the leaked songs

so in ak's case its actually his own fingerprints

Don’t really like any of this songs :(

But does anyone else agree that Mystery by Fabiana Palladino is one of the best songs of the past couple years? I couldn’t even guess how many times I’ve played that song

And it was a crazy feeling when those jai (?) backing vocals came in towards the end, first time hearing him on a new song since his debut singles, was like hearing a ghost
