Out on VOD on the 16th.
Got a good feeling about this particular Palme d'Or winner
Third act took what I felt like was a legitimately surprising turn, really really thought this was fantastic. Strong strong ending. Currently in my top 5 of the year I think.

Can't wait to peep. Going into this no spoilers
think this is my film of the year but still need to see some big hitters (secret agent, if i had legs i'd kick you and marty supreme)
ok didnt like this maybe too much hype both main actors did well the direction was ok story was cool husband's was ass his intentions were off ending was GOAT rest kinda mid nothing that stunned or amazed me n i usually like foreign films just really didnt capture me
I was engaged throughout. Just hearing them all go back and forth on what to do with their differing experiences and opinions was entertaining. Hamid brought a much needed jolt of energy
Then of course the final two scenes tied it all together well
It's a slow burn but so worth it for the last hour. Haven't had an ending stay with me like this since The Zone of Interest
really wanted to like this, but couldnt care at all. Felt off for me
L
💔 my bad
Loved how scenes were staged, performances felt realistic for the scenario
the edible kicked in about 30 mins in and I locked in

To be fair I was hella tired from weekend activities, but I kept falling asleep tryna watch this yesterday. Don't think I made it past 30 minutes. Will have to try again some other time, or not.
finally caught up to this and was expecting to like it more. oddly i found it very stiff and dry, the script especially. i wager a lot was lost in the translation but even then the way exposition was presented came off as forced and left not even a crumb of subtext or undercurrent. same goes for some of the acting, but that might be even harder to parse as a non native speaker/listener. felt like there are bones for a good film in this, but the rest is just missing.
the last minute is the best part of the film.
