The trailer had plenty of groans, gasps and even a few tears as Knoxville and the crew put their bodies on the line to say goodbye. There was lots of nostalgic archival footage shown of the amateur stuntmen, including the late Ryan Dunn and ex-cast member Bam Margera. Some of the new stunts include Steve-O getting a painful prostate exam from a robot named Larry, Sean “Poopies” McInerney putting a shock collar on his p**** and an “escape room from hell” that punishes everyone’s bodies.

“My name is Johnny Knoxville, and I’m going to try to not get emotional,” the star said on the CinemaCon stage. “This is the last ‘Jackass’ film the world will ever see. ‘Jackass’ means a hell of a lot for me. We knew we were making the last one, so we went extra hard to make sure this was also our best ‘Jackass’ film ever.”

Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, “Danger Ehren” McGhehey and Preston Lacy have been with “Jackass” since it started out as a TV series in 2000, as have co-creators Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze. The low-cost movies have all been economical hits at the box office. “Jackass 3D” (2010) stands as the highest-grossing film with $171 million worldwide from a $20 million budget. The franchise has also released extended cuts with bonus stunts, “Shark Week” TV specials and a “Bad Grandpa” spinoff movie.

“Jackass Forever” made $80 million globally (narrowly beating the original 2000 movie), but arrived when the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered many movie theaters in 2022. It also inducted newcomers Zach Holmes, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka and Rachel Wolfson into the “Jackass” family.
