This thread completely backfired on op lmfao
Nah it's cool, I don't care about clout. I'm seeing where people are at, because there was a time and there still are places where nobody coming from a trust fund would ever be taken seriously in Hip-Hop.
Things change, at least in certain demographics. I was looking for opinions and I got them, I understand where y'all are at.
one of the most unhinged posts ive seen on this site after op
The audacity of these dudes seriously saying this s*** while posting on a site named after a man who grew up middle class

How is that unhinged ? Buying your way into the industry is very common, whether it’s being able to afford notable features, production, studio time/equipment, co-signs, visuals, A&R meetings etc etc
Obviously the artist being marketed has to have SOME kind of it factor and it doesn’t make them bad people but OP’s point of mainstream artists rarely being self-made holds weight

I really don't hate people who grew up middle class, I was born in Washington Heights but my family eventually moved to a suburb and later came up. I understand the different worlds. My class background is complex and I relate to a lot of different people.
People in the middle class have a place in Hip-Hop. But I think someone fully from not only a middle or possibly upper class background, but also a stable family and white privilege acting like they run s***, is an imbalance. But I also came here to get different opinions and I got 'em, so I'll consider what people are saying.
my playlist only consists of artists who had both of their parents die and then they raised themselves up with wolves so that they never received any benefits from participating in society

Nah I do like some white rappers, but to me Hip-Hop is about escaping struggle or pain. I understand that's not everyone's view so I'm getting different perspectives on the subject.
this thread just made me like jack more, seems like his parents are good people and raised him well
