Finally caught up and this s*** is phenomenal but there was no way in hell he would've beat Kendrick
Love the love he's showing to both Kendrick and Drake, as well as having reverence for his own journey. I had no clue what the problem was from the Warm Up to Sideline Story but he got a raw deal

What is interesting that Cole and Drake both had times they had to be alone and stick their necks out for results while not having peers trying to crack through at the same time
Episode 3 the best so far. That no.id segment was interesting, unfortunate a lot of the songs from that session didn't make it out. Really curious what that one very personal song ib was gonna play sound like
It was also interesting how Cole used to hoard songs to use later for his album,( like wet dreamz being from the come up days is crazy, but makes sense since it sounds like school daze pt 2). But when SFG dropped he changed his whole approach and started taking mixtapes seriously.
Just finished relistening to the warm up as well and while some of the lines didn't age the greatest, the tape still holds up. The quality difference from the come up was telling with this one
Episode 4. Really shows how much pressure hov and the label was putting on him to make a hit. While the early 2010s were great, there was a lot of reaching for these crossover pop hits that didn't age well at all. Like higher, blow up probably age better than the hits on Cole world to me.
Never thought what a Pharell x Cole collab would be like but they were lowkey not good.
The story about kendrick was really cool, Kendrick having to be the one to remind Cole he was sleeping on himself was dope. And hearing temptations and shock the world
Cole having to be the one to tell Jay to stop eating well done steaks is crazy

I liked those Pharrell x Cole collabs
When we get new songs any idea ?
CDs only shipped out like yesterday so probably next week sometime.
@Kdogone cole and miguel almost never happened
him being on the same flight as nas after making let nas down is crazy
INSANE and it's hilarious how they knew how some people who weren't invested (me) in any or either artist
@Kdogone cole and miguel almost never happened
Nigga INSANO for thinking him singing the hook would be better than Miguel

But did Cole originally write the whole track hook and all?
Episode 5. If ib didn't find that crumbled paper, farewell wouldn't happen
The whole story about ye and looking for trouble was interesting
never thought the looking for trouble verse had ye shots or that cole had an issue with him even back then. Also said he felt like ye set him up with that verse. Might explain false prophets
Relistened to FNL, and this s*** age too well
. 2face, enchanted, villematic, autograph. Classic songs all over this project. Cole saying this mixtape was born out of survival and feeling like he was losing buzz since the warm up really shows why this project turned out the way it did. He put his best foot forward even at the expense of his debut,

This s*** is so crazy and it's putting Cole's music in a new perspective to me. I second everything you're saying
