When you guys teased the album as "Fall Off 2020" with the whole presidential campaign, what did the album look like back then?

It’s been so long I can’t even tell you lol, I think Legacy and first half of Bombs in the ville probably the only two songs we still have from that time.

I don’t think we’ll do a documentary we’ve done those so many times but we do have a whole lot of footage of us making the music that’s Dope so we’ll get those out as we go and hopefully give more context to some of these songs

Double disc can be risky. Did you or anyone on the team ever advise against it?

KINGOFQUEENZ
We had a version of the album that was 15 songs initially but then it was like we’ve done this before. We’ve done the short album where on first listen there’s no misses everything is loved right away etc. with this it was too many good songs and honestly we wanted to tell the story right. We also wanted to give the ability for some songs that you might not connect with right away on first listen a chance to grow on you and maybe later become your favorite, its hard to do that with shorter albums. They both have its pros and cons but for this one the double disc and telling those stories felt right, and honestly now that its been a month I can’t even tell you which song I would cut out.

After committing to the double disc concept (thank goodness lol) were there any songs that were left off of the pre-'24 tracklist that made their way back to the final tracklist?

That’s a good Question actually, it’s a few. The album went through so many transformations but some that made it back in towards the end were Lonely at the Top, Ocean way, 39 Intro which was just the first half (magnets) for the longest but once the second half came to life the whole song was a perfect fit for the intro of the second disc. Also Old Dog was one of the OG ideas that got made better and better in time and came back on the album late, it was another song in that spot we took out.

When was What If made? It feels timeless and this one grew on me so much. Was that something Cole had been sitting on or was that a later addition?

He made that in Miami and that s*** immediately felt classic. In One Miami session he did that, two six, man up above, life sentence and whole world is the ville. S*** was an insane few days of just elite top notch music making.
