I take back all the hate I had for this album man. Once you accept it for what it is and let go of what it isn’t, it just bangs.

Yes the flaws are still there, sequencing could’ve been better, features could’ve made it more of an event, a few more bangers would’ve made it an easier pill to swallow. But man is this album rewarding if u stick with it, the references, samples, themes, it’s like a love letter to rap. Really wish he fine-tuned it to be an actual 10/10 album cuz the potential was there. Just needed some curating and more push as a hip hop event.

Incredible album. Glad you’re coming around to it. Take away all the expectations and the music hits

Man like I was saying earlier I was listing to MMTBS, still consider that a classic and one of the best rap albums of the decade but I’m back to this and man this easily matches if not clears

Cole proved he’s an elite album artists with this (I also think The Off Season was an amazing offering as well still his most concise project imo). He also proved once again the critics ain’t s***

It’s your turn now Drake. Show us what you can do as an album artist at this stage of your career
