We used to buy CDs, give it multiple spins and weād find records we liked regardless even if the album wasnt a masterpiece. Nowadays everything comes and goes cause theres too much available at once

I agree with this general sentiment, but people only ever say this when the initial reaction to that first listen is negative. Nobody says this when people love an album after hearing it once

Lonely at the top does a better job imo.
Whatever snippet 8 was probably would've been better.
I'm juss saying if we ranking j cole closers, I'd rank this in the lower half.
Not a bad song, but this is the closer to your ""retirement"" album and it...idk, it don't feel like it.

Also I love how he repping the Ville on there Iām from Pleasantville NJ so Iām from āThe Villeā of NJ and itās kinda similar to how he describes Fayetteville fr, small town, can be beautiful in some ways, but definitely violent

Thatās one thing I can give credit to this album for, itās definitely reaching and connecting with people in ways that I havenāt seen a mainstream rap album do in a long time
