Something about Cole’s persona and character in long form really lowers his ceiling for me every time I try. He has technical ability but there’s just little that glues me to his projects. And then when I do pay attention again he is introspective but not in a way that feels like I’m rewarded for hearing it lol. And I love introspection in rap more than anything.
