    Did he say that?

Maybe I'm mistaken but everytime him or anyone in his camp talks about this album it's about what he "wants to go out on"

but someone replied with a podcast clip from 2021 where he says it's more-so an album that will allow him to rest and feel like he's fine if he never drops again while still leaving the door open

  • TDUB701

Shoulda had that epiphany before dropping a whole diss mixtape lmfao

Funny how that epiphany came right after his disses got clowned into oblivion

100% - and im assuming he probably didn't like tabloid like essence of it either once it was coming his direction since he talks so much about disliking the spotlight

  • notbrock

I also love all three of them

I just don’t see how you could blame Kendrick. Kendrick just did some hip hop s***, Cole didn’t have to react the way he did and he doesn’t have to let it eat him alive

I’m also on the side of wanting Cole to say something on here. I’d love to hear him actually go in on a diss track. I think 7MD was a miss but it’s pretty clear it was just supposed to be a warning shot, I just don’t think he expected the reception it got

i wasnt being serious fr i prolly should’ve noted that in the post. he did what he had to do

    Anyone listen?

  • Cole should've been in Slaughterhouse

  • New cover is mid. Expected some twu fnl off season type of cover.

  • Blue Genes

I know everyone pins Cole as "backing down" but I really do think he looked around and realized Drake and Kendrick hated each other in a way that he wasnt ready to tap into

This beef went way beyond word sparring, there was real vitriol

Good take honestly that I hadn’t really considered

I do think backing down then kind of talking big here might not be the greatest

J Cole's apology was the right move
I see stans on all sides arguing about this 2 years later. Truth is Kendrick would have smoked tf out of that boy.

Cole made a diss song full of weak twitter criticisms and realized after that he didnt' believe any of them twitter critics and was "trying to find an angle". Cole backed down and let the real battle begin. People holding this over Cole's head now doesn't make sense when everyone realized shortly after that was the right move. Yall got amnesia?

Big never responded to HIt Em Up and he shouldn't have. Cole made a wrong move and owned up to it, give him grace this the reason I made Mr Morale.

We would’ve gotten weak Twitter criticisms from Kendrick too, what is anyone going to say about Cole lol

2014 Forest Hills Drive relisten time!!!

What a f***ing classic man. Don’t listen to anyone on here who tells you that it’s not. Album is almost a flawless run of songs for me, I just think St. Tropez is one of the weakest songs in his discography but I understand its place on this album. This is deadass the album J. Cole was born to make and I’m glad that it exists.

    9/10

(Sidebar: Note to Self should’ve been a foreshadowing to everyone on how his role in the 2024 beef would play out. Guy spent the whole album saying f*** every other rapper, I’m the top dog… then at the end he’s says sorry Drake & Kendrick I didn’t mean that I love y’all it’s dope though because Cole genuinely seems like a good person)

Good album but a lot of these college ass raps didn't age well to me, also wish Kendrick never rapped over A Tale Of 2 Citiez
No Rolez Modelz, Apparently & Love Yourz are still some of his best songs, the rest of the album is just ok listening to it today, Born Sinner aged way better to me

I disagree, Born Sinner is the one that sounds a little dated to me

His rapping is so much better on Born Sinner, has more memorable hooks and better production, has his most timeless singles too

ARE WE LISTENING TO THE SAME ALBUM, THIS SONG IS F***ING INSANE

  • Niggas would rather listen to a 15 minute yap session as the album outro instead of this peak

Heavily disagree. His rapping on FHD is elite, and the hooks are way more memorable
