I’m not talking about underground rap. I’m talking mainstream hip hop. Pac alone has 3 better album. TM101 is way better than FHD yet you never see it in these type of pitchfork/rollinstone lists.
If you wanna make a mainstream npc list then put it top 100 but come on we all really know it’s not in that class
Shout out to you for TM101 reference. Absolute classic.
Do you mean God's Gift?
It was a good song but not that good.
I mean the Nas album.
I do like the album. I just am not convinced it’s a classic. Up there with some Kanye Kast Kenny D’Angelo Jay s***. I can’t do it
That’s respectable man and you know that won’t directed to you just more of a general statement. I think for me a personal classic and a classic in the sense of the general hip hop landscape can be different. I fully agree my criteria for a classic differs from the latter

Not all classics are on the same level of classic status.
#1 on the list is #1 for a reason, and #100 is nowhere near it, but both are still classics
How can an album with work out sideline story and can’t get enough lights please and lost ones, in the morning be a disappointment

Was going to say that Don't Go Tellin Your Momma by Topaz Jones is literally better imo
Great album

Oh f*** me I just made the whole connection… y’all just some haters
2014FHD is Cole’s only good album, but it’s a classic tbh. It has hits, staying power, and good deep cuts. If you’re album still on the BB200 and has a song in streaming top 100 10 years after release it’s def a classic.

Song so ass he literally had to record an apology to Nas and put it on his next album
dont have to lie on here to get your jokes off is all im saying
Yeah bro, it’s a weirdly specific story I made up to impress internet strangers on a Thursday afternoon for a rush of dopamine, sleep tight

Can definitely see how FHD can be personal classics for dudes. One of my boys who I discuss music with argue this all the time lmao

LIR2 is way better than FHD. Eminem has 4 albums better than FHD.
if Friday Night Lights got the debut album treatment (like it was SUPPOSED to be before label s*** got in the way), we look at Cole's discography VERY different.
Some of cole's best work is on that tape.
i agree with this, but it wouldnt have gotten the commercial appeal the way his actual debut did
Uzi has two albums better than FHD. Pac for sure has 3
Pac yes but uzi nigga what ??
I mean the Nas album.
oh ok
That album honestly doesn't get the credit it deserves
Most underrated album in Nas's discography imo

Facts. Cole one of my favorite rappers ever but I know dudes who are like full blown “dude saved my life” type stans. This site really underestimates how many people f*** with him like that
