Exactly but that’s also why Kendrick doesn’t hear about this or get this criticism, even though the type/amount of features from both are basically the same. It was a gimmick for Cole cus it was never totally true, and now he’s still dealing w it. But the music itself I think is unaffected, I don’t think Cole is still trying to keep a gimmick up, I think he just developed an attitude about it and that’s how he does his solo work now. Kendrick’s music just never needed it
