Probably my favourite Cole album but that’s not saying a lot, f*** with about half of these songs but it’s still a disappointment this guy is just nowhere near Kendrick or drake and this project is nowhere near as good as his mixtapes
i don't think there's anybody (in their right mind) that's claiming he's as good as kendrick or drake these days
cam gave cole that extra boost of confidence
haha fr I had so much fun listening to it killa cam a legend. rest of the album is aight tho

Yeah I think I go into every Cole album with too high expectations because of the “big 3” talk
Wait why everybody always s***ting on Cole?
He was spazzing on every song. Sounds like Mixtape Cole and y’all talking like he’s Lil Pump

i understand but i haven't had high expectations since FNL, so each release stings less and less

Thank you broski 🙌🏿

From a rapping perspective he sounded hungrier on here than the last two. Good flows and overall engaging to listen to. He really went in on My Life.
My thing with Cole is usually the hooks and to a lesser extent the lyrics. There are some hooks I really don't like on here (100 Mil ehhhhh) and he always fits a corny bar or two in there. He's not an amazing writer, but for this era he's good enough.
Part of it is that he works alone a lot and doesn't give himself access to the kind of talent that Kendrick and Drake get. This album was actually a step in the right direction that way because the features were really good and the production he got from Dahi was crazy.
So I think even though he's not as talented as some top tier rappers, he does listen to his fans and I think this album is an improvement, even if the high points aren't earth shattering.
Now I understand why Cole never had features on his albums, they completely outshined him
Yooo, this s***'s dope.

i agree that it was definitely a step in the right direction, but he needs to step outside of his bubble and actually go all out with the production and features. i don't want it to sound like a star studded compilation, but I want something that sounds radically different from what he's been dishing out. we need production that will match his energy on these songs.
What’s general consensus, going listen to it tomorrow?
usual cole reception, divisive
just have a listen & see where u land
