It’s hard to compare because Cole is a better artist now.

But this is just a compilation of weaker stuff he would have not put on a normal album.

dude it is absolutely a fact like completely... this guy is a good rapper and he makes iight beats (that are CD/LR throwaways)... "this s*** aint rocket science the scene changes with beats" if you are doing the same s***ty sampling on diff drums here and there it doesnt make it diff... this is the same record hes made over and over again and over again dude... including the mixtapes lol like the same exact kaka

What are your misses? For me, the beat and mix makes the first track hard to listen to. Track 2 not that substantive, a lil mid. Track 3 really sold. Great beat, great chemistry between Cole and 21. I just wish it had a better hook cause the singing and the lyrics aren’t too hot. From there it picks up for me. 100 mil another miss. SUPER impressed with Pride Is The Devil and Let Go My Hand. Close is a bit mid. And the closer brings things to a grand finale, love that track.

Overall, I think this is a solid project, maybe a 7.5, but I thought this would be where J Cole would finally become a GREAT. Interlude is so focused and polished that I had that expectation. Alas, we get something good, but not entirely special.

Everyone knows Kendrick is better. And that’s fine. I’d rather Cole try to be the best him then the best version of Kendrick he can be.
