And that structure would still take capital to maintain.
sure, these are steps on the path to a socialist society.
they aren't a socialist society in and of themselves.
Inviting my neighbors to dinner (mutual aid!)
Didn't know these potlucks at work were mutual aid

You could have all these things for years lol there is only one way to actually get a socialist society
How are you less dependent on capital when you’re buying the exact same groceries and experiencing the exact same exploitation but instead of providing for your family it’s just your neighborhood
And everyone’s paying the same amount too. It makes no economic sense. The group cost is the same, you’re just giving the product to someone else for free. Organization should be done to fight exploitation by the system, not to disengage from it
improving material conditions and creating a sense of community is an important step to getting people to buy into socialist ideals in this country.
P hard to have the working class consistently donating to each other when ppl have families to feed snd bills to pay

you need to organize labor before labor can revolt. Organized labor doesn't exist anymore, that window was closed and things like mutual aid and then dual power can reopen it.

everybody has labor as an asset to donate to mutual aid, so yes while everybody can't donate currency, people can donate their labor and this helps them realize the value of it!
crazy concept, I know.

They have to work their actual jobs you know

Union membership literally on the rise but ok
Union membership literally on the rise but ok
yet unions are weaker than they ever have been
They have to work their actual jobs you know
imagine this, you use time outside of your job to build community ties!

Goddamn you really haven’t read a lick of s***
Imagine the only way for your system to function is to burn down everything that came before it
Goddamn you really haven’t read a lick of s***
I have, actually. have you read Kropotkin?
imagine this, you use time outside of your job to build community ties!
So like if I'm a nurse working long exhausting shifts why would I take my little bit of time off....to keep being a nurse?
Imagine the only way for your system to function is to burn down everything that came before it

Lol so you're an anarchist
no. but once you reconcile Kropotkin's views on mutual aid with Lenin's on dual power and Marx's overall philosophies you get a pretty good sense of how a socialist society could evolve in America.

So you're just taking a bunch of s*** and combining it and pretending it can be applied to 21st century America

NO YOU DONT
So like if I'm a nurse working long exhausting shifts why would I take my little bit of time off....to keep being a nurse?
if you chose to yes, but obviously jumping to extreme examples like a Nurse who works long exhausting shifts is, well, extreme.
but yes, a Nurse could choose to take their experience and trade it for something tangible they need from someone with a different experience.
