February 9, 2024: UNRWA director Lazzarini says that a convoy of

food donated by Turkey has sat for weeks in the Israeli port city of Ashdod. UNRWA states that the Israeli contractor they work with received a call from Israeli customs authorities 'ordering them not to process any UNRWA goods.' This stops 1,049 shipping containers of rice, flour, chickpeas and other foodstuffs from entering Gaza, where, at this point, an estimated 25% of families are facing catastrophic hunger.

February 12, 2024: It's reported by OCHA that between January 1 and February 12, 51% of missions planned by humanitarian groups to deliver aid to the north of Gaza are denied by Israeli authorities. 25% of these missions are denied for the southern half of Gaza. Timber, hand tools, cooking stoves as well as essential sanitation supplies and services are also facing distribution restrictions.

February 16, 2024: The Food Security Sector (FSS) reports frequent border closures, longstanding import restrictions, and damage to critical infrastructure keeps aid from entering Gaza while food insecurity in northern Gaza becomes an extremely critical state due to previous restrictions on humanitarian assistance.

February 20, 2024: An Israeli tank fires at a house containing sheltering colleagues and families of MSF (Doctors Without Borders) during an offensive in Al-Mawasi, killing the daughter-in- law and the wife of one MSF worker, while injuring 6 others. Bullets are also fired at the clearly marked MSF building. 80% of INGOs report Israeli military operation is keeping them from reaching other governorates. INGOs report long delays and denial of entry due to Israeli inspection. An INGO states that all 35 of their trucks had suffered delays. Officials at the Gaza Coastal Municipalities Water Utility tell Human Rights Watch that Israeli authorities have obstructed efforts to repair the water infrastructure.

February 22, 2024: Between February 1-15, only 2 out of 21 planned fuel missions by humanitarian partners to the north of Gaza were facilitated by the Israeli authorities, allowing the delivery of 38,400 liters of fuel. During this period, all 16 planned fuel or assessment missions to water and wastewater pumping stations in the north are denied access.

February 29, 2024: Dubbed as "The Flour Massacre", Palestinian civilians gather in the thousands to receive flour in the southwest of Gaza City. At least 112 Palestinians are killed and around 760 were wounded by Israeli forces opening fire on them.

March 13, 2024: In the east of Rafah, a UN aid center and warehouse, one of the last operating aid facilities in northern Gaza, is bombarded by Israeli forces. The attack injures 22 people and kills 5 people, including one UNRWA worker, adding up to a total of 165 UNRWA workers that have been killed by Israel since October 7.
March 14, 2024: Israeli forces conduct two separate attacks against Palestinians awaiting aid at the Kuwaiti Roundabout in northern Gaza. In the earlier attack, an Israeli helicopter fires at thousands of Palestinians while they wait for aid. Nearly 50 Palestinians are killed and dozens are injured. In the later attack, Israeli forces open fire at the same roundabout multiple times, killing at least 21 Palestinians and wounding more than 155 Palestinians.

March 19, 2024: Israeli forces kill at least 23 Palestinian aid workers at the Kuwaiti Roundabout. 100% of the population in population is severely food insecure.

they would've had to give up all the remaining hostages, which was out of the question. an alternate resolution is being drafted for a ceasefire without conditions.

it doesnt really matter though, nothing the UN does changes the situation on the ground.

sounds like a vote on the alternate one could happen as early as this afternoon. If US vetoes that it’s gonna be such a terrible look for them. Salutes to China and Russia for standing on business. Altho like you say the UN doesn’t really matter anyway

Finkelstein, for all his "humanitarian" concern for palestinians, is a two-stater and a reactionary who spends most of his time complaining about trans people and "wokeism". its not really some coincidence that he's now doing internet debates with braindead morons like Destiny.

ive never read anything he's written that Palestinian writers haven't done better tbh. he was useful during a certain era as a sympathetic white jew to the cause but he ultimately is against Palestinian national liberation.

israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has declared 800 hectares (1,977 acres) in the occupied West Bank as state land, in a move that will facilitate the use of the ground for settlement building.

israeli settlement watchdog Peace Now said the seizure is the single largest since the 1993 Oslo Accords, and "2024 marks a peak in the extent of declarations of state land".

Peace Now called the timing of the announcement a "provocation” as it came during a visit by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who has been critical of settlement expansion by the hard-right government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Also thank you to all contributing updates, particularly @Speak . I’m glued to the news but frankly (and I don’t like admitting these type of things) it’s gotten so depressing it’s hard to keep wanting to put anymore effort in than that. But I promise I will do a better job of providing updates and I’ll get OP updated with the latest soon.

It's surreal thinking back to the first couple weeks of this with so many people riding the fence seemingly in good faith. A lot of them mostly abandoned the subject all together rather than adjust their worldview.
