First interview with Anthony Aguilar, a “retired Special Forces Green Beret who won a Purple Heart for his service”. Looks like the Israeli cabinet will approve this plan tomorrow. It has some pushback from senior officials who aren't interested in full occupation which would take several months. They would prefer a several-week operation to seize Gaza City and move from there.

I think this could be an extreme show of force to secure a hostage release deal on their terms, but time will tell.
