doesn't seem like it was a protest at all tbh. random video of a woman having an episode being seized upon by both zionist liberals and weird internet misogynists.

I read that she is mentally ill and had some panic attack, others said it was the irgc police cause she didnt wear her headscarf correctly?

All I know is the persian diasporas went with the headscarf thing and im making fun of them

They just wanna show their t*** out and at the same time support israel bombing Palestinian/Lebanese women. Hard to take them seriously. Why is this so difficult for you to understand? @americana

Students said she was being harassed and the university public relations director said she was mentally ill

Wednesday can’t come to any conclusion, and even if she did have an episodic breakdown we can’t act like it isn’t for reasons unrelated to her treatment

Iranian women, regardless of religion, do not want to be OF "models" or prostitutes for disgusting men

I get that today's american "feminists" have capitulated to the free market over questions of p***ography, moral standards, consent, etc. but in the 3rd world these issues are still primary to women; there's very little an Iranian or Indian woman shares in common with a first-world petty bourgeois cam model.

I think that’s a hyperbolic perspective to have on the situation

I dont get which part you think is hyperbolic. obviously I dont think all american feminists think this way but for the most part, in lieu of a strong organized communist party which centers women's liberation, these issues have been left to neoliberalism and the logic of the free market.

Well that is what the crux of the issue is, rather than the sentiment of changing womens’ status in Iran in itself

I don’t see how supporting sentiments regarding womens’ “liberation” in Iran is necessarily tied to the support for their exploitation by a neoliberal market.

Sure we’d have to do the work to separate the two given how things are now but I think we can do that

without a commitment to communist politics the feminist movement in Iran is doomed to become a slave to both foreign NGOs and the fascist mainstream opposition. dont even need to speculate on whether this will happen since it already did -- as much as I sympathized with the immediate demands of the morality protests a few years ago it was basically a nothingburger that failed to resonate with Iranian women broadly and it was mainly due to the obvious right-wing misleadership of the movement. this sounds harsh but criticism is necessary, and ofc Iran's communists have nobody to blame but themselves (since imperialist meddling will always be a given in any scenario).

israel's unprecedented use of a massive number of bunker-buster bombs in Lebanon has raised concerns that it is using depleted uranium in its ongoing bombardment. We need an impartial investigation given the potentially disastrous consequences.

israel withdraws military brigades from southern Lebanon

Reports indicate that israeli occupation forces have withdrawn a number of brigades from southern Lebanon after failing to achieve their objectives in the region.

The Zionist entity aimed to drive Hezbollah away from the border, create a secure buffer zone, and facilitate the return of hundreds of thousands of israeli settlers to the northern parts of occupied Palestine who were evacuated since the onset of Hezbollah's operations last year. None of these efforts have been successful so far.

The entity's deployment of 50,000 troops to Lebanon, a force exceeding three times that of the 2006 war, still did not result in meaningful control over any Lebanese villages.

Hundreds of forces who identified as israelis have died since the attempted ground incursion into southern Lebanon, with thousands more wounded, according to sources from the Zionist media.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed his popular defense minister, Yoav Gallant, in a surprise announcement.

Netanyahu and Gallant have repeatedly been at odds throughout the war in Gaza. But Netanyahu had avoided firing his rival.

A previous attempt to fire Gallant in March 2023 sparked widespread street protests against Netanyahu.

The prime minister announced his decision late Tuesday.
