“Big Isaiah fan guys…probably the biggest but I don’t like the songs where he sounds like how he’s been sounding his whole career”

i mean in homeboy's defense he virtually does not sound anything like Clivia Demo Zaywop.

Yea, Isaiah one of them artists who changes but stays the same at the same time lol. kinda how i see tyler. They both evolve esp tyler but theres always that signature “touch” to their writing and production that only they have. it keeps the music grounded so to speak.

cant find much similarities between these 3 albums besides them “sounding like zay” but no one can really articulate what it is

Nah I love this album but his writing hasn't hit the peaks of Tranquility alone lol.

I understand he chose to switch his style up and that's fine and I'm personally ok with that. But there ARE gonna be Zaywop fans that will not be wrong when they say his lyrics have taken a step back.

Gave it a listen and I can't get into it just like his first two. No hate but his rapping style is genuinely mid to me. S*** literally makes me sleepy. It's like... your not lyrical, your flow really isn't all that complex or fun to listen to, you not very charismatic, you not on no super creative s*** musically or conceptually, you not dropping no knowledge, you not on no turn up s***, you not really saying no wild street s***... you just a chill dude rapping over some chill ass production...lol ok bro

I mean I can tell why people like it bc the beats are great and his hooks are pretty wavy but I'm not seeing where all this classic talk is coming from for this or either of his other albums. I'll give it another try tho I guess... Maybe I'm missing something

    your not lyrical (true)
your flow really isn't all that complex or fun to listen to (false)
    you not very charismatic (false)
you not on no super creative s*** musically or conceptually (false)
you not dropping no knowledge (true-ish)
you not on no turn up s*** (false)
you not really saying no wild street s*** (sorta true, but also not true… but also who cares?)
you just a chill dude rapping over some chill ass production (don’t like the word “just” here, but otherwise mostly true)

nothing personal, but it kinda sounds like you’re just irrationally frustrated that we understand the music and you don’t. i’ve been there before so i don’t blame you. i feel that way about… dababy, for example. it’s ok. his music isn’t for me. that’s fine. it is what it is! i just think the things that you said were also so far from the truth from the perspective of many of isaiah’s fan

You are absolutuly correct lol. I am frustrated. I want to get into it but it hasn't clicked. Feeling left out 😂

This is the exact response I wanted to hear from a fan. Tell me I'm wrong so I can listen again from a different perspective type s***. I like taking other people's feedback into account with music. Ya'll might hear some s*** I don't so I'm all for it

yeah, it happens, man. i feel the way you do about other artists. i can definitely relate to that feeling of wanting to be involved and excited about something but just not being able to for whatever reason. it’s ok tho, bro. his music isn’t for everyone. you good. glad you checked it out at least ❤️

I check for him every time. I usually just add a couple joints that stand our to my general playlist. The Kendrick feat on his last album was in HEAVY rotation for example. But yeah bro every artist ain’t for everyone but I’m a mix engineer so I be trying to keep up with what people like 😂 his mixes are pretty fire I’ll definitely give him that. Gonna give it another spin when I ride out and run some errands this afternoon and see if my perspective shifted. Preciate you taking the time to share your perspective tho broski

    1. Little to no audible drums on the intro.

    2. His music has always been in this trippy dreamland zone there’s a lot of this on all three albums

that being said he does enunciate on cilvia more but that’s just a gradual change in vocal style, starting from
    like 7 years ago

You would sound different 7 years older post-addiction-struggles and rehab too (and also i mean i say post addiction in the way of he made it through that low point he was going through and came back to us, not that his fight is over with)
