He has such a great presence on a mic and his charisma is as good as ever, but after a few listens, I think it’s kind of a step backwards from THIB songwriting wise (which to many was already a step backwards)

Lots of sweet sounding stuff with a lot of personal lyrics but the actual depth of the songs from a craft perspective is a bit dry and tiring for me not sure why but on a lot of these I just don’t think what he’s doing vocally is making the songs as good as they can be. Especially when the way he chose to tackle the song is more melodic than rapping

And it’s the first Isaiah album with songs I legit do not like and think are bad. And this albums best songs IMO don’t stack up to the best songs on any of his last 3 albums. Gonna play tf out of it as I do with anything he will ever drop and I hope I get more out the vibey melodic songs as I get more familiar

I think people need to listen to the album more ngl

Off first listen I’m glad he’s really rapping a significant amount again. The slurred nonchalant flow and delivery he began putting on the past decade just never really hit for me when he’s so much better when he’s really rapping like he’s saying something that needs to be heard. No shade but I didn’t want him to pick up that MIKE style lmao, not after hearing what he’s capable of on CD

zay albums always slow burns so I’ll withhold judgement but the first listen could’ve used more oomph

Second verse on Supaficial is high up there for his greatest ever

This is album may be CD tier for me. Incredible
