I was in a Twitter space with a TDE adjacent member who helped work on DAMN who basically said the same. Said Dot is actually a fan, he just doesn’t view Drake the same way everyone else does. I think the back & forth was fun for him in a competitive aspect, but I don’t think he ever wanted to take it here.

Sounds like more excuses to me

When he said "let's keep this a friendly fade" I got Cole vibes... ngl it feels like he's hesitant about all this now. Too late tho, he woke up the demon. Red button time

yeah there were more lines in there that were very strange.

"Fabricatin' stories on the family front 'cause you heard Mr. Morale"

"But don't tell no lie about me and I won't tell truths 'bout you"

"We ain't gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way"

I agree. You can’t beg for someone to come outside & dance then backpedal. This is regular for Drake, very new to Kendrick. Can’t ask for a friendly fade on a diss.

  • I really think if we could ask Kendrick honestly that he'd say he just wants this to be over. He only dropped Euphoria because he needed to save face for his image. Drake can't drop 2 disses on him and he don't respond. He warned Drake he's ready to snitch and he got the last word in. But I think Drake needs to win this more than he wants to keep his secrets. For Drake this can't end in a stalemate after he lost to Pusha, for his record's sake he needs another W from someone worthy before he retires

    Warning tbh

honestly speaking - after 2 tracks by drake and if I'm kendrick - I aint adding no warnings in my diss track

im going for the kill (the only reason I add warnings is when I know that the nuke drake has can be really scathing - OR - Kenny a really psycho mf and he has even bigger nuke that he wants to drop last)

His tone was different on Like That. No need for warnings.

I think Midricks disadvantage in this beef is that he been put on pedestal for so long and being some mythical creature. The "boogeyman". While being private and mysterious. The impact of the disses towards him and the revealing of his character... stuff the public dont know... it will just gather more of a reaction. It will be an assassination of him and he wont be looked at in the same way.

Drake on the other hand has had haters and detractors since the start of his whole career. He has gone through this so many times and had his mistakes/private life on display. He has had to prove himself time and time again. Still... never getting his flowers from certain people. They will never give him credit, because they straight up hate him because of their own fragile egos. Those type people will never amount to anything. They are lost causes.

“they straight up hate him because of their own fragile egos.”

    This 💯

You can tell he's off his usual confidence. The Joel Osteen bar would never get past the rough draft stages for Dot normally. The cracks are starting to show and all the different cadences he throws out aren't going to cover it up

I ain’t trying to hear any of that. Y’all think Kendrick is being friendly? He attacked this man’s entire identity and existence. He is 10000% trolling listeners and mainly Drake saying it’s a ‘friendly fade’

We can’t be this naive… right? RIGHT?

to push's credit: it worked and was a smart chessmove on his part

people did not give a f*** about the context and only do so for people they care about - always been the game

Yeah I agree on that part back then. But it’s been almost 6 years since then?

Why are people still thinking the image actually means anything that is used to clown Drake with. By now you should know why that image exists.
