He made multiple versions of the song and even had a mixed/mastered version ready to go. Nothing about that suggests that he wasn't gonna drop. Seems more like he waited till the second Future/Metro album dropped to see what else they had in store for him.

You fail to understand that being at war with multiple people is not entirely healthy having to see where there at when you go to places this and that people would get hurt for this in certain circumstances but if it has to happen it’s warranted.
