I'm not saying this kind of stuff hasn't always been part of a rap beef but let's not ignore the fact that drake vs kendrick crossed a line making this sort of drama the point instead of it being part of a creative back and forth with great bars. This beef was ass and some corporate s*** for kids and it honestly makes me worry about how future rap beefs will play out if this becomes the new base line... airing dirty laundry isn't impressive, iconic bars are. Drake somewhat delivered early on, Kendrick had some interesting angles, but did he actually drop an all timer in terms of bars? I just don't see it. It was a great event but it wasn't a great beef.

    We can agree to disagree

Also music is too volatile right now for people to be doing all that period anyway in my opinion. Vince Staples and Cole after he got some sense had the right idea.

then blame Drake for turning it into that

battle was going in a great direction with Euphoria and Dot still ignored Drake tryna air dirty laundry on Push Ups that he doubled down on Family Matters, and now here we are

it always reads like ya’ll be making this type of comment as a fault to Kendrick when he simply just won the battle in front of him and wanted to keep it strictly about the bars

just sad listeners who misremember the battle to feel right in your bad opinions because Drake used more metaphors and similes lmaoooo like talking directly to that nigga with no overthinking involved isn’t an element of pure rap

  • Did bro just say chance the rapper

I think Dot having a long day against Quik, Nas or 50

they just got that MTG trigger about them song #1 lol

    50 can’t rap tho

  • Prime Em would smoke Kenny tbh and it’s not even close

  • mr get dough

Rx Nephew might serve Kendrick lol

    He would win thru humor

  • aLIEN

"I can divide" just got quoted by cole recently

    Cole barely has original thoughts

He also copied the whole premise of “Rewind” by Nas

  • did a nigga say chance the rapper..wtf

I think Lupe on paper could but he'd either go over people's heads too much or miss the mark sonically for most.

Also doesn't have enough star power.

Lupe always looks good on paper until the music starts.

  • Kay Flock

    Gucci Mane

I was thinking of who would beat kdot in a rap beef, and I don't believe anyone exists including past legends. 2pac or biggie just don't have the lyricism to match, and Nas just doesn't have the mainstream appeal, although there would be rap fans claiming he won on a technicality because of some triple entendre.

J Cole was smart to duck out the way tbh

    Discuss.

Whitney Lamar, but I'm not sure.

lmfao I was talking about how they would handle the beef, very in your face, I don’t give a f***, f*** this nigga. that’s exactly the type of competition Dot needs. imagine Drake getting up on the Grammy stage and talking straight to Kendrick, that’s that real rap beef s*** that those 3 names I named would be about making the battle that much tougher for Dot cause now you dealing with an equally crash out capable nigga who really don’t have much to attack on them

  • lonny860

    hell nah not chance

  • any critic darling with widespread appeal and respect, i’d say andre 3k but doubt any of the current gen even know who he is

Kendrick didn’t say anything to Drake that hasn’t been known for a decade ( besides daughter which never confirmed ) . Said it in a fun way with great beats though in a moment where after all drakes subs we wanted someone to defeat him

Nah he exposed BEAM as Drake’s ghostwriter.

Also a rap beef doesn’t require revealing new info about the other person. All that matters is that the music is good. You’re obviously coping for Drake getting humiliated

I can picture 50 doing a pimpin curly skit "no need to beat this b**** (Whitney) up cause the cuz dot already beat her up"
And a diss song with his classic s*** talking intros.

  • aLIEN

kendrick knew exactly what he was doing lmao, he wanted it to play out like this because bro got no bars, he's not winning a classic rap battle against drake, what's a prince to a king he a son is easily the greatest bar in the entire beef, push ups is the best classic diss track in the whole thing and I'm not saying he won, dot won the beef but it was a pyrrhic victory

When I see you stand by sexy red I believe you see two bad b****es
