And it's only with fashion ppl even make these dumb ass arguments.If someone wants to go on a trip to Mexico, but chooses to be on a budget and goes with a budget airline that has $200 tickets instead of a top airline with $1000 tickets it's not an issue.
If someone wants to go to a nice restaurant and they wait til there's a special running with a 50% discount then go, it's not an issue.
Any logical person would applaud someone for still finding a way to enjoy something while not going outside their budget/affordability.
Yet with fashion if someone sees 2 sources selling a nearly identical item and one is $50 and the other is $500 then they choose the $50 with slightly less quality, 'they need to live within their means and stop trying to engage in something they can't normally afford'.
Not sure how some of you got so brainwashed into elitism/classism with fashion but lmao. You look like a fckn dunce telling people they shouldn't find happiness in something with their own budgeted version. We are doomed as a society if someone wearing a Yeezy rep is what makes you mad about our current world.

This argument doesn’t work the way you want it to lmao.
Nike is Nike. Someone is not going to be able to easily find another legit sneaker that carries the same look. Regardless of anything, Nike shoes are objectively nice and unique.
If Nike were to drop the prices of all sneakers down to $20 and make unlimited stock, then I would literally load up on Nike the next day. Because I simply like the look of the fashion.
If someone only cares about the imaginary status and being seen rocking something, then Nike dropping their prices down to $20 and making everything unlimited stock would make them disgusted with wearing Nike and want to find a more “exclusive” alternative to start getting reps for.

And let’s be realistic, most of the best looking sneakers nowadays are the ones everyone bots to buy and nearly impossible to get for retail
Oh I can’t get and enjoy one of the most popular shoes of all-time (Chicago 1’s) because I don’t have the energy to bot online releases and I don’t live in a major city so I don’t have any in-store raffles to enter… so no my only option is to pay 4x retail to some loser 17 year old with 600 SNKRS accounts?

You have a valid intuition but the a***ogy of explicitly saving money on say a flight or a coupon at a restaurant is not congruent with buying a completely different version of a thing. That’s more like having a heroin habit and choosing to buy fentanyl instead.
