first of all im not an avid concert goer these days but i dont remember live shows being this bad back in the day. I've been to 3 shows last couple months, most notably My chemical romance/interpol days ago but also seen local, smaller artists in completely different settings and even though i enjoyed them still ( great energy, good performances, visuals etc), i thought they were kinda lacking, but ig they were fairly cheap so w/e?

MCR/interpol was an arena so maybe things work different there but the mix was way too muddy and had way too much bass, for MCR it wasn't so bad but Interpol it was literally just the bass overpowering everything else. so as a result the vocals were borderline inaudible too

the other shows were at much, much smaller and intimate venues,but had the same issues, inaudible vocals, overpowering bass, couldnt tell instruments apart

so is my hearing f***ed or what's going on lol

i go to concerts regularly and rarely have a bad experience tbh i love live music a lot!!
