  • yeah and you can especially tell now with the Yeezy slides being a soft prototype for every other brand of streetwear/althetic slide in the past 6 years

Yes. Everything has slowly become that first homeless looking adidas Yeezy show.

Every blank last few years was oversized pigment dyed or sun faded and distressed. It’s starting to fade but he basically laid the framework for the next 10 years with that first Yeezy show

He has definitely lost his touch since then just like everything else he does and I think we’re def in/entering an era now where his influence kinda fades away

There’s a Mike The Ruler interview where he talks about the GAP era and Ye had basically lost his magic and was going to Dover Street Market to shop for references which is kinda the same way he approaches everything now. Copying what’s hot vs dictating it.

    pretty much this

idk about mike the ruler tho lol i didn't listen to the episode he was on with TF because i didn't wanna hear 2+ hours of demna glaze

  • He has incredible creative vision

    His influence is crazy

like people are just now past couple years phasing out of the Yeezy neutral tone era

  • Chunky sneakers/dad shoes

  • There not one real people in the world who wore Yeezy season

Yeezys are forever influential tho even tho they’re gone

It’s HEAVY SLOBBING going on for sure 🤣🤣🤣 but the Ye parts were insightful and disappointing. Basically don’t meet your heroes fashion nerd edition.

He was expecting to be picking Yes brain and going super deep in archives and history but Ye just sent him to get all the new stuff from DSM.

Ye also basically did nothing design wise for Yeezy GAP Balenciaga as Demna had in the contract that he would design everything and Ye would just pick what he liked to avoid the usual pitfalls of working with Ye lol

    He was

  • Absolutely. My dad just got some shoes recently that look like “post foam runners”

350, foam runners, slide, and 700 v1 all monumental. And if starting a brand that could launch so many famous silhouettes in such a short time doesn’t make you good - then what sort of astronomical, unrealistic standard is being measured?

  • S*** was cool for its time but it ain’t no vivet though.

  • You win op you got me to check my calendar

he needs to branch out of dull neutrals

  • Not really design related but it’s funny how Ye doing Polo and then Louis Vuitton Don makes him one of the few celebs you cant find pics of pre 2010’s wearing Chrome Hearts lol

That’s one thing that’s big today that you can definitively say he had no influence over

  • Yeezy Gap and YGEBB was goated

  • 1996 BRL ✊🏿

I remember that old video from some yakub who said he thought Ye's true genius is marketing
