I haven't kept up with the s*** in the middle east post the initial October attacks but from what I've gathered seems like both sides (Israel and Palestinians) want the other eliminated completely

If you ask me seems like american youth has been manipulated into taking an anti Israel stance based on hamas propaganda. A lot of the messaging seems very antisemitic.

Personally i feel like American youth should be protesting things that effect them at home like cost of tuition or student debt

All these college kids just seem to he virtue signaling and joining a trend

I don't agree with the US backing Israel nor do i agree with the years of oppression the Palestinians have faced but tbh its not my problem. All i can do is use my power to vote and unfortunately Israel is the US's proxy into the middle east so they kind of have to d***ride in order to secure American military imperialism

This is the cost of living a privileged western lifestyle

  • "is anyone here pro-Confederacy? if so explain why"

  • Can’t imagine taking a pro-israel stance after hearing 30-40,000 Palestinian citizens have been killed

    S*** gotta stop

  • I do have some thoughts on these protestors, and why it feels like a lot of protest movements in the states seemingly lack regional leaders.

Like these kids are protesting really amazing causes rn, but are getting dunked on because they are very wonky looking ivy leaguers. I don't mean this to s*** talk them or the movement at all, they're fighting the right fight. just feels like the general public and media see who is involved with these protests on our soil and immediately dismiss them because of the actors.

i suppose brown people in the states will never be able to garner majority support though, because that's just what it is.

What are some things the American youth are believing that you think are examples of ‘manipulations’ by hamas propaganda?

it's so funny to be like "protesters are just virtue signaling and trend hopping, they should be voting instead!"

How is it a bait thread?

I’m trying to unpack these peoples biases and see how they justify what a foreign government is doing to civilians

I want to know the users tbh

I spend a lot of time debating the topic on social media but haven’t seen the debate happen on KTT and I’ve been here 12 years

I'm nominally pro-palestine but cynical that any creation of a palestinian state wouldn't just result in a continuation of their forever-conflict, only with palestine bolstered by better iran/hezbollah support once they had control of their own borders. don't really think either side would actually be satisfied with realistic borders.

yeah dont invite white supremacists to "debate" their position, thats a form of legitimacy they shouldnt have

As a Jordanian-Palestinian I think that’s a bit reductionist and I’d prefer seeing what users have the view of pro Israel on a website I spend a lot time on for transparency sake

Western supremacy and orientalist factors are some ways to view the conflict but just labeling pro Israelis as proud boy types is American washing the issue and ignoring a lot of nuance

Most of the people I debate with who are pro Israeli on Tik Tok are middle eastern Jews or Christian radicals (some white) but lot of POC

there is no "debate" between a white supremacist ethnostate and national liberation, dawg. you sound like some annoying middle class kid with no real stakes in what happens. israel is a european settler colony, there's no enlightened middle point where that's somehow legitimate.

‏يا ولد عنجد أنت حمار أنا من الأردن كمان قلتي فلسطين عن جد أنت ما قريت شوف أنا كاتب

My fiancé is from the West Bank and I’m a Jordanian Palestinian

Did you even read the above? You’re trying to lecture someone whose actually impacted by this on how to approach the topic?

You’re projecting your American viewpoint on someone whose actually from region saying there’s no debate or middle ground

    1) I never said there was

    2) I only want to know the users on a site I consistently use that opposite views versus me

I hate the fact it’s a settler colonial expansionist ethnostate
If there was a way the people of Israel could have a state without the baggage id be okay with it. Like the Kurks should have a state
