but the correlation to hiphop is dead. This is all just pedo executives/producers/parents finding new ways to attract children and they found a sound (rage) but that s*** is not hiphop

Three artists do not constitute an era, especially in the mid-90s/00s when the mainstream was much broader and more diverse than it is today. They weren't at the forefront of their respective scenes the way child and teenage rappers are now, and there was NOTHING like the 'underground' of today, which is filled with children and teenagers, and stops listening to rappers after they turn 20

Shyheim was an underground teenage rapper in the 90s. Lil Cease, Lil Twist, and I think even Curren$y were all signed when they were in high school young rappers have been around forever

This sxn d***rides nettspend too much to not know what op is talking about

I was hating before but I get it now. Jay, Kanye, DMX, 50 Cent, Future all dropped their debuts when they were 26+ and they’re kinda gatekeeping people under 23 from blowing up or getting some kind of motion if they haven’t started already

These underground rappers are getting younger and younger. Every day we hear about a new 12-year-old who is tearing the game up. Older rappers are also trying to sound like children by pitching their voice up. What is causing this phenomenon?

Executive infant producer, Asahd Khaled changed the game forever

Unfortunately the barrier for entry into hip-hop has gotten low, along with the bar for quality, because of s*** like "Let people like things" or "Let kids be kids".

    this is not an alt

I don’t think this is a hiphop problem. There are plenty of people that are 30+ and openly come out saying they watch Anime

Because these kids are…not…good as rappers

Also most kids arent gonna be great rappers because to write you have to have life experience

Can't write them all off I'm sure there's at least a few decent ones out there

    “underground rappers”
    “everyday we hear”
    “tearing the game up”

Just an insane amount of cap in the OP

This is like the endless amount of YT videos featuring Young "11 Year old phenom basketball player is about to kill the NBA in a few years!!!" and its just a midpack

the first one has more of an effect cause now you got 40 year olds proudly bumping teen music which circles back to my point if I can’t look at buddy weird for listening to teenagers, what does that tell you they tryna normalize older people hanging out with kids…”to make music” yea…ight

  • from Richard Linklater:

"This just is Hollywood. It’s cinema of this generation. Gosh, I’m glad I’m not a kid now. Being a young person, let’s say 10 through 13... The only reason I went to movies was because they were all adult movies. You had to find your way into the movie. Now, we make films for twelve-year-olds. They’ve done a great job at convincing adults that those are good films. Just stay a kid forever. Keep reading comic books. That’s movies. They’ve just abdicated adult filmmaking and all its complexities, which includes sex. They’ve just tossed that out largely. That’s the studio’s game. They just thought it was probably more profitable to just make films for kids and the kids in all of us."

Personally ion know if I'd go that far with it

But I will say I've given some people in their early-mid 30s looks for getting excited over s*** like that Wynee girl. Not cause it's weird, but more that I know they've heard much better and I don't know why they think I'd be interested in hearing some lyrical miracle white girl.

Millennials want to be babies forever. That's why they sit around living vicariously through these 8 year old rage artists talking about their 'aura'.

Definitely didn't start with Millennials though, that's why we keep getting new Star Wars and had 10,000,000 40 year olds completely break our culture by crying that each new movie is too woke (aka different than it was when they were 8 years old). We're not producing anything new for the next generation, just rehashing the hits of the 1980's because Gen X wanted to play with their action figures forever

a popular older artist from the new gen had little kids calling their significant other exes as content for their show its a slippery slope all I’m saying cause nobody can a***yze without getting a “just stop watching/listening then” like that s*** just don’t stop being weird cause we stop talking about it lmfao
