in terms of what? the oversaturation of indie music?
yea with like 10 billion clones that tried copy funeral

honestly i'd put the blame on the strokes if anything. i feel like they had way more copycats than arcade fire tbh. think about all the garage rock/post-punk revival bands that came after them.

oh yea the strokes are just as guilty also
i think people unfairly s*** arcade fire cause of that and since the strokes became cool to like again people forget all s***ty clones they spawned
also p4k done lot damage on the indie scene, i would like to expand that in another thread

those indie music blogs really made things worse lmao.
people who look down on arcade fire are just judging them alone off their last couple of albums. they forget funeral, neon bible, and the suburbs are one of the best trilogies in rock music tbh. I like reflketor but a lot of people weren't too fond of it. everything now just straight up sucks ass though.

feel like we due for another rock renaissance this decade especially 2010s was so hip hop dominated
even another indie boom would be cool, maybe bands like Black Midi and Black Country, New Road are the future of rock since they got huge acclaim
to this day im still shocked the suburbs won AOTY at the grammys
yea same and em still salty about it to this day

lmao thats funny you mention those bands cuz i was thinking they were the future when they came out with their s*** last year. that song sunglasses really blew up out of nowhere in the underground and its nice to see something like still happen in the modern age.
i do have a feeling rock will make a comeback, but it's gonna be hella mutated and changed i just dont know how.

yea but i am not too sure at this point they came from exact same scene. I been on both since last year tho but i think we should see them both dropping records in 2021
i see us going through another punk phase one day. I honestly thought punk would return during trump administration but it didn't really come back outside uk bands idles and all that
another thing is triple j a gov ran alt radio station has been moving more away from indie roots and promoting more and more hip hop something they would never done even 5 years ago this playlist of most played songs last month and lot of it is just pop and hip hop
bands like king giz don't get as much reception as somewhere like rym or p4k tbh
there’s no “indie” thread that can exist without having girls in hawaii in it

shout out @Terry and @deepsleep the only GIH gang so far on ktt

and am still shocked cage of elephant won over weezer for best rock grammy
ok let me listen to them then
you got me curious
first album is certified european classic
it was a band the streets loved, they never hit off commercially per say like no hits, kept it underground but got good word of mouth enough that they have reputation like if you know, you know type
