Would love to know what Em's mindset was when he penned this, and where he was when he penned it

"No more games, I'ma change what you call rage
Tear this motherfuckin' roof off like two dogs caged
I was playin' in the beginning, the mood all changed
I've been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage
But I kept rhymin' and stepped right in the next cypher
Best believe somebody's payin' the Pied Piper
All the pain inside amplified by the
Fact that I can't get by with my nine-to-
Five and I can't provide the right type of life for my family
'Cause, man, these goddamn food stamps don't buy diapers
And there's no movie, there's no Mekhi Phifer, this is my life
And these times are so hard, and it's gettin' even harder
Tryna feed and water my seed, plus teeter-totter
Caught up between bein' a father and a prima donna
Baby-mama drama, screamin' on her, too much for me to wanna
Stay in one spot, another day of monotony's gotten me
To the point I'm like a snail, I've got
To formulate a plot or end up in jail or shot
Success is my only motherfuckin' option, failure's not
Mom, I love you, but this trailer's got
To go, I cannot grow old in Salem's Lot
So here I go, it's my shot, feet, fail me not
This may be the only opportunity that I got"

I don't give a f*** what race you are, f*** that s***, this is undeniable

Still Dre, Lose Yourself, In Da Club, Not Like Us.

Arguably four of some of the most iconic rap songs ever and they were all birthed from the Dre/Aftermath/Interscope familia.

now do the ROC Jay and Ye don’t even have to be there

It's factual he has both solo beats and co produced beats lol and also engineering is another major part of his whole thing and in modern day even more important that people like Jay Z, RZA, Kanye and more strive for

And even people that have co-produced for Dre have talked about his individual skill as both an executive producer and hands on best maker such as Scott Storch, Daz Dillinger, Robert Glasper and Warren G - and Eminem has said Dre created the template and style of his sound on his first 3 albums, same with 50's n Game's first two albums

Have no idea what this angle is trying to be

As I said in the original post I was playing devils advocate. Of course I don’t put Birman on a level with Dre, but for what was being discussed, birdman has a good eye for talent too. Juvenile, Mannie, BG, Wayne, Drake and Nicki (to an extent) even rich gang. But when compared to Dre I’d agree they’re not on the same level

Just playing devils advocate here, but does that make Birman the goat too for both Drake and Wayne?

Wayne and Drakes peaks combined fit into Em’s peak alone tbh

It's arguably the highest peak in rap history. KTT just hates Em

50 also had a similar peak.

    Point being--Dre the GOAT

Never said anyone came close, but the truth still remains the truth. Eminem said it himself. Yes he was one of a kind, because he was an exceptional rapper and he happened to be white. No one is denying his talent. But his skin color still contributed to his massive success.

Drake is a whole other conversation lmao

Eminem is just being humble man. Hes never even called himself the GOAT or even top 5 like so many other rappers claim to be. Like the most braggadocios he ever got was him putting himself number 10 or 11 or saying he’s in the convo and leaving it at that.

Ultimately, it would be white rappers at the top of this genre if what you were saying is true. The fact there has never been another white rapper who accomplished even 25% of what Em did speaks volumes

It’s funny seeing this site always goalpost move to not give Em credit. Dude is a legend and had one of the highest peaks ever in rap and I’m not even a fan of his music like that
