Hmmm don’t recall thriller being dat
im not gonna argue with you because I love both albums , but im talking about Yeezus
OP the greatest album of all time is 42 minutes long
It’s 35:33,
And I’m talking about The Boss by Diana Ross.
I think the culture around music consumption has changed dramatically and it is apparent in cinema.
In recent arthouse films, you rarely see a homebody protagonist listening to music or exploring a collection of music in solitude. They’re usually on the move with headphones or at a club.
OP may be right if music continues to be consumed mainly in transition: in your car, at work, at the gym.
We, on this forum, can’t relate to his argument because we consume music as a quote-unquote art form, to be enjoyed as it is not as a utility.
of course , that's why I said hits
the box is huge thanks to a 20 second version of it on TikTok
Shorter albums are always better regardless of attention spans or whatever. But pop music doesnt seem to be getting artistic pushes anytime soon though.

Lmao I gotta search this up.
If it was Vine it would be clips of people cleaning their mirrors, stepping on a floorboard in the middle of the night or jokes about Michael Jackson.

I do feel like 40-45 is a perfect length for a album tho. It really depends on the artist for those hour and some change projects
17 seconds in and I’m already flying.
It’s ironic a teenager would sit through this but the thought of a 6 minute song is obscene.

We've been in an era of increased artistry in pop music for years now. Pop artists weren't putting out albums like Anti and Lemonade when I was growing up.
Does this mean if you like longer songs you have a better attention span
Honestly a longer attention span is near Godliness.

But they were when your parents were growing up lol

Time length on it's own doesn't matter
It's a combination of content, the number of tracks and length
An album can be 80 minutes long as long as it's for a reason

Thriller is 45 minutes
Nevermind I poured jelly on myself it’s 42 minutes lol

You had me thinking there was an extra, unreleased song.
This s*** so f***in stupid. If only the corona virus could affect only tiktokers
But they were when your parents were growing up lol
I guess it depends on your definition of pop. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, etc definitely sold like they were pop.
Ain't no classic albums by The Archies tho
Honestly a longer attention span is near Godliness.
I feel like you need one to appreciate slower/more subtle elements if the music is more focused on that
