I think April is the word on streets for VOD release
Glad this gem crushed Emilia Perez. Way more deserving of best international film. I would say it's top 3 of 2024 for me alongside A Real Pain and Anora.
Incredible
This and no other land are the the peoples champs of tonight. Love to Brazil and Palestine tonight

Can’t forget Flow, it’s championed so much in Latvia and they’re definitely proud of the film. It’s great to see international films win that clearly mean so much to the people they’re from
The crowds are actually because it's Carnaval (aka Mardi Gras) right now! but yes, everyone is very happy about this win. Fernanda Torres and her mother (nominated in 1999 for Central Station) are iconic actresses in Brazil
Well deserved. Brazil has put out absolute film classics the last few decades and Salles being the one to accept its first Oscar just makes it so much sweeter
Needa watch this, Mickey 17 and Flow this week
there is a screener out there if you really look 👀
This is who robbed Timmy
Why this thread
just got home from seeing this.
this 100% deserved the international feature film Oscar. what an incredible performance from Fernanda Torres.
9/10
Watched this on the plane ride home. Went in blind thinking this was a lighter family drama.
Damn this was absolutely incredible and heartbreaking.
Also not main point of film lol but f*** their house is so beautiful, kept pausing to check out their art/furniture choices
