Honestly if this works out for me that will have to go on the back burner for now. I’m young man. People change a lot in their youth and I think being in active duty and traveling the world will be good for me.

tbh at one point i was dead set on joining the military, but I thought about it and realized I kinda knew what I wanted to do and the military wasn’t it. I do really think it’s a good way to jumpstart your life n get a guaranteed steady check twice a month especially at a young age. if you really gonna do it just do a f***ing s*** ton of research on your job and the lifestyle around that job, and make sure that’s what you want to do for 4+ years before you do it because there’s no backing out once you graduate at basic.

You will not make 50k a year unless you sign your life away and are very, very, very good at what you do. I know people that only made good money when they literally wasted their life away going on tour. In the states they basically made enough to be above mcdonalds workers.
If you consider barracks with a bunch of nasty ass dudes housing, okay. If you consider rations free food okay.
If you consider free college after they have you do what they need you to do and if you live depending what branch you go to okay.
Basically all of my friends were very involved with the military. It hasnt done any of them any favors at all besides free college. That's the only real benefit they got out of it, and that's after getting thrown around quite a bit.
Depends what branch you're going to. If you do really well in like the airforce or navy you might do well after your contracts up. Maybe not. But its definitely not as peachy as that army recruiter who's legally paid to trick you makes it sound

You make it sound like free college isn’t a big deal. That’s huge. The Army is only a tool. If you do not use the Army to your benefit and learn something that can translate to the civilian world of course you’ll be poor. That’s why so many Marines are homeless.
