I dropped $80 on a Mario Kart World physical and got $35 back in rewards at Best Buy. I guess that counts but I basically paid $55

These games are barely worth $60.
I mostly play remakes, remasters, and indies, so I’m not in the market for $80 games. As much as I was looking forward to Outerworlds 2 it’s a skip for me.

I can’t afford it, and it’s just too much even if I could. A line had to be drawn.

The biggest thing to point out is AAA games launching at $60 since the Pe3 era have barely been worth that price because they have been so bugged and unfinished. Prices have gone up and nothing has really changed. Development costs are higher I get that, but the standard for a working game at launch hasn’t. Or a game with enough content worth what you are paying.

Mortal Kombat games on PS2 were ridiculous with the amount of content they had. Something we took for granted at the time. A moral Kombat game with 25% the content of the PS2 games would be sold at $70-$80 and then you’re paying more just to get 50% of the content via dlc
