rapping and singing are 2 branches off the same tree. both have high skill ceilings and low levels of entry(singing's is a little higher tho).

    good answer!

music is about vibration and energy and clearly hip hop resonates more with a modern audience its that simple.
also at this point rapping and singing has become so blended together sometimes its even hard to tell whos doing either. id say that singing/rapping blend is more popular than either or

i think this is the sad truth

    how is it sad
music is about dancing in the first place

music is primarily about a visceral feeling that it gives us, not about message or content or aesthetics. its the most primal form of art for this reason. forget all your prejudices, if it clicks with the people it clicks and theres nothing wrong with that

u gonna say theres something wrong with s***or eating now too?

when has sheer talent/quality ever directly correlated to profitability in a capitalist industry

it would be talent weighed against marketability and cost (which doesn't really exist in this case outside of labels needing to pay to extend your market), and top tier singing alone just does not cut it right now unless you can market your image as a singer well, which is far harder than doing such as a rapper in today's climate

    You are right

one form of art taking more talent than another form of art doesn't justify why it should be popular.

Plus rap is more pop now then it was years ago too
