Dune part 1 would be exponentially better if you read book I can tell . It’s not like Harry Potter where you could never read the book and still be good . The list of cut scenes is horrendously long
as a massive fan of Denis’s take on Dune i agree with you.
I read the book and i think that gave me much more of a appreciation of the movie.
Idk how much more love it can get everyone is d***riding it and calling it "cinema". Even other filmmakers are d***riding it and I liked it.
Are Dune fans tryna say this film didn't get love?
Denis has kind of a s***ty fan base like alot of filmmakers who make they whole thing "Cinema.
Very letterboxy

That’s All I’ve ever been trying to say . Same applies to game of thrones at a certain point . Very few can adapt to point where book not needed at all
I just find it funny that man’s created a infighting thread when dune got plenty of love
Facts I'm lost at what love it didn't get they got James Cameron out of his cave to praise it and s*** on Marvel films at the same time.

kinda disagree on applying this to GOT a extent
At least for the first four seasons, afterwards i would say you are on point

Let them fight
Throwing part 1 at the end of a movie isn’t an excuse
to be fair i presume they always knew they would be having a sequel and more on the way

Exactly what I mean . I cared when ned stark died and was invested but eventually it lost me where I can tell if I read book I would still give s F***

Exactly acting like dune was some kind of underdog was silly as F***
Let them fight
Wild part is I actually think both are his weakest films I prefer his character dramas over his sci fi stuff and I put Arrival over Dune and 2049.

Shhh you will be called a hater
Slow
You gonna act like dune changed cinema cause you saw it in imax sober with popcorn ?
as a cultured dune fan who has seen the movie ten times and read the book.
I think my biggest criticism is the way it was wrapped up. Honestly should have gave the movie a whole extra hour.

I hope you find a little more happiness instead of angry posting on KTT because people didn’t like Matrix and Dune had bigger shine

Why you so upset?
Though BR2049 would normally align more with my taste I actually prefer Dune.
Feel like with what BR2049 introduced as far as the concepts, I should've been more interested. And I love a slow burn. Maybe the trailers had me over excited.
Dune has me interested for what's to come. If a Blade Runner sequel was to come and it was related to Harrison Ford story, I'm not checking it out
