you know how f***ed we would be if these companies get hacked and database dumped, including a treasure trove of personal ID

i mean, it's already happened before, look at equifax and experian, and it's all relatively public

you can buy (illegally) SSNs/CCs/state DMV (plates/license) lookups online quite easily if you know where to look and they're cheap, they come from hacked databases of medical facilities and government s***, for the hypothetical issue it would solve, it would introduce a whole lot more issues regarding the safety of our personal info
