Tyler definitely joked around a lot in his early years . But you can’t make tracks like She, Nightmare, and Inglorious unless you are really taking the music s*** serious

Tyler was definitely gimmicky and memey and even often mocked rap music,, even though he really cared about the craft of it

He definitely blew up because of Yonkers, but he always took music making serious and always put 100% effort in to the craft

But lets be honest even if Ian gives it full effort and loves the craft I am not listening either way I dont give a f***

same way I dont give a f*** about post malone or Jack harlow dropping an album they arent for us and that is okay

this how I know you never really listened to him, Early Tyler Is not meme music? It was just popular online and it was edgy. What memes were attached to goblin and wolf?

    "meme music" sells in short

making yourself a meme or being cringe sells in short

why in anyway would I be mad at Ian at 19 for being a meme

Ice Spice boomed for being a meme whatever song she mentions s*** play in next do I think she put her heart into it ? f*** no but that s*** isnt made for me and THAT IS OKAY

Tyler would’ve blown up with or without Yonkers as a fan since his thrasher interview with earl right after b****** dropped the nigga was on his way up

the issue with ian isnt taking the craft seriously alone though he is an apropriator even if an apropriator "takes the music seriously'

even if he gave us The Wire David Simon level break down of atlanta and concept songs its still a white boy in the space

even if s*** was heartfelt its still a whiteboy in the space he is still just a vehicle for a record label to make money

you guys know damn well you understand what I am saying and are trying to be dense

Tyler also spent the first 5 or so years of his career making fun of hood niggas calling them hard R’s and saying they only care about 808s & Jordan’s. Nigga was a super coon whether he likes to acknowledge it or not. Doesn’t change the fact that Ian being accepted and pushed is a slap in the face of genuine artists

1000% and I personally think his rebrand and his “coming out” was to save him from being cancelled but that’s another story

    he 19

he doesnt make music that I like personally but there are some 30 year old veterans who have been in the game 10 years not getting pressed as hard as a 19 year old

Does Pharrell still take music seriously and for a love of the craft?

A direct joke song isn't the same as an artist's actual work though

Tyler still dropped a serious album with this on it regardless of how trash Goblin is

as I said from my first post I prefer ian dropping the bullshit he is now to this

Tyler couldnt drop the s*** he did then and have a career at this same time flower boy and coming out or not

You cant come out as gay and retcon your edgy time

other people will lie in here and act like I am crazy but that s*** doesnt work on me

It's people saying "Oh Tyler is old and hating the young generation!" and "Tyler was always about young people doing what they want regardless of old heads" s*** like that.

But honestly, I feel like that goes to show just how s***ty the younger generation has gotten. Yeah, I feel like any other time Tyler would speak up for these new artists popping up and motivating them. And the fact that he isn't this time around speaks to what he's saying about there being a lack of originality and these young artists just doing cosplay and mocking the genre.

Pretty much, these new dudes f***in stink.

I'm talking about B**** Suck D*** which was intentionally a joke

Comparing an intentional joke song to Ian's actual work isn't the same topic imo

it's kinda lame if it all boils down to "he's white and sounds like that" because maybe that nigga just making music he thinks sounds good (which is it's own convo) + hahafunny marketing and it's not actually "audio blackface" or a "mockery"

seems like we don't know anything about ian's approach to music and everyone is just nooticing
